The world is thinking "green" to protect our precious resources, and the health of our population. What comes from the earth must go back to the earth without destroying it. Sustainability of our environment is of utmost importance in any manufacturing process in the 21st century and beyond. At every stage of the life of a product, from manufacturing through reclamation at the end of the product's life, our manufacturers insure that their products have the smallest possible negative impact on both the health of humanity and the environment.
There is a commitment by our furniture manufacturers to adhere to comprehensive environmental and health protection initiatives.
Our manufacturers have complied with and are rated by the following organizations for their health and sustainability compliance:
Greenguard Environmental Institute - Greenguard certification requires that our products have low chemical and particle emissions and comply with good indoor air quality to foster a healthy environment for our customers. Greenguard certification makes it easier to design healthy interiors for LEED-certified buildings.
Compliance with the ISO 14001 - The International Organization for Standardization created the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System Standard to encourage companies to protect our land, air and water. Some examples of ISO 14001 include: reducing electricity consumption; diverting the amount of waste to landfills; reducing emissions of organic compounds, thus improving indoor air quality for a healthier working environment; diminishing the carbon footprint; and the use of reclaimed products to conserve natural resources. In general, the ISO 14001 Standard reduces air, land and water pollution.
OSHA 18001 Compliance. Our manufacturers comply with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration's standards for safety.
"Full circle" compliance from the manufacturing process to disposal -
Our manufacturers have taken great care to produce products with the lowest impact on our natural resources, from the manufacturing process to the reclamation of products at the end of their life cycle. They use manufacturing processes and materials that use fewer natural resources and create fewer pollutants and less waste.
We can help the environment. Our manufacturers have the Greenguard certification. Your projects can achieve LEED certification.
